We spent the previous night in Agua Calientes. The next morning, John Pizarro reached out via WhatsApp (if you don’t have this app, I’d recommend downloading it!). He met and helped us get on the earlier Consettur bus to avoid the afternoon crowds that will be coming on the afternoon train. Normally, you are only allowed to board the bus half an hour prior to your Machu Picchu admission time. Ours was at 2pm. John talked to the Cobsettur staff and we were able to board the bus at 11am since we are staying at the lodge. Once the bus stopped at the lodge, Jessen welcomed us and personally escorted us to the 2nd floor where we checked in and waited for our room to be cleaned. Check in was at 1pm so we were early. Crucial and Ruth checked us in and invited us to the traditional ceremony where we did offering to the 3 mountains. It was pretty meaningful. In the evening, Edgardo knocked on our door and offered turn-down service and brought us candle in a big beautiful bowl. Edy was our waiter for dinner and breakfast the next morning, very accommodating to us being vegetarian and even offered us a dish not on the menu that he asked the chef to make for me. We were definitely glad to have him again the next morning. Jason started us off with the menu and finding us a good seat. At the front office, Andrea was very helpful and asked us if we had brought raincoat since it started raining. We had bought the 5 soles raincoats but Andrea provided us raincoats and water bottle to take with us to Machu Picchu. Andrea also checked us out and was super friendly, very knowledgeable. Kevi went out of his way to find me smaller change. He had to go to 3 different areas to make sure I had smaller change. Jessen walked us to the bus the morning we checked out. We went to Aqua calientes since our train departed at 4:30. John, the hardest working guy, escorted us to thenlounge after we were done shopping. All the staff I mentioned above deserved the recognitions! Thx all!

I like everything about this hotel! My husband and I went there to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. They treated us like we were the only ones staying at the hotel. They welcomes us with a beautiful fruit platter and bubbly, we loved it! The property is gorgeous. They have an area where you can walk and relax while enjoying amazing views of Machu Picchu. The room was super comfortable. They upgraded us to a room with a patio, which was super nice. I enjoyed waking up and just walking to the patio enjoying the view, vegetation and clean air. Martin y Guido were our favorites! They explained everything about the food and a bit of history too! The pisco sour tasting was also super fun! It was a great way to taste and learned from a variety of piscos while making new friends. Last but not least, the location is perfect. We were able to enjoy visiting Machu Picchu and then come back and relax in our room. We'll definitively be back!

Unique hotel in front of the park entrance. The staff and the service are great. We received so many small gifts during the stay like: rain coats, water containers, unlimited free mini bar and room service, chocolates, etc… plus, dinner and lunch were included in the room price (full board). The room is rather small, but has all the luxury items! The hotel gives you access to the Hiram Bingham lounge at the águas calientes train station which is a huge plus (the station is super crowded), even if you are taking another train like vista dome. Plus, they will take care of your luggages from the hotel to the lounge.

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. We were provided not only a comfortable room at such an excellent location but also yummy meals throughout the day, ample snacks and skin care amenities as well as useful tools such as water bottles and raincoats for our hiking at Macchu Picchu. I'm also happy to see that the hotel is dedicated to providing environmentally friendly products in the room. The staff were super helpful. Was impressed by their staffer John's warm and genuine service from the time we got off the train at the Macchu Picchu Station.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Sanctuary Lodge! The place is beautiful, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the food and drinks were delicious, and being steps away from Machu Picchu was magical. It was very expensive, but it was worth the splurge. It was absolutly luxurious, from being met at the train in Agua Caliente and seen off there a few days later. Shout out to Jorge, Eddie, Sebastian, and all the other staff at the Sanctuary Lodge. They were exceptional.
